Frequently Asked Questions

  • Holistic means focusing on the whole person—body, mind, and lifestyle—rather than just one specific problem.

Holistic nutritional therapy is a way to improve your health by focusing on how your diet, habits, and environment affect your overall well-being. By eating the right foods and making healthy choices, your body can heal and function better. This approach helps with things like boosting energy, improving sleep, and reducing stress, all by giving your body what it needs to thrive naturally!

  • Consultations typically last about 60 minutes, depending on the service and the client's needs. Follow ups can last as short as 30 minutes.

  • The cost of services varies based on your individual needs. A new client appointment is $170, and follow-ups are $90. Since every plan is personalized, filling out the inquiry form helps us understand your goals and provide a more accurate estimate tailored to you. (Additional testing and supplements are not included in the cost.)

  • Roots at Heart Nutrition wants to help everyone by offering easy-to-understand and high-quality nutritional services.

To make this possible, we have payment plans available. If you can't afford these options, please email us or fill out the inquiry form so we can see how we can help you!

  • Unfortunately, no. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, FSAs (Flexible Spending Accounts) and HSAs (Health Savings Accounts) may be accepted, depending on your plans. Payment is required before any forms and appointments are scheduled.

If you are interested in alternatives to health insurance, we highly recommend you talk to Cain at credicott.com– He’s knowledgeable in all things health insurance related and alternative options such as medical cost sharing! Just tell him that we recommended you!

  • Unfortunately, no. We do not provide CPT coder or diagnosis codes that are required to generate a superbill because we do not diagnose, treat, or cure diseases.

  • We offer a variety of testing options to get a full understanding of your health, including:

    • Functional bloodwork

    • bioresonance testing with a hair sample

    • GI MAP testing for gut health

    • Genetic testing

    • Muscle testing through applied kinesiology

    • Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) to track blood sugar levels

These tests help us create a customized nutrition plan tailored to your specific needs.

  • No, this isn’t just another popular diet fad! Holistic nutritional therapy focuses on making lasting changes to your lifestyle rather than following a temporary diet. While you may need to avoid certain foods and change some habits, our goal is to help you create a sustainable, healthy way of living that works for you. It’s about understanding your body’s needs and making choices that support your long-term well-being, not just a quick fix.

  • You don’t need to have a primary care physician to benefit from our services, but it's helpful to stay connected with your healthcare providers.

Nutritional therapy works alongside other practitioners to help you reach your health goals.

Any medication changes/decisions should be consulted with your provider.

  • You can track your progress by paying attention to how your clothing fits, your energy levels, and overall well-being. In some cases, using a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) can help you see how your body responds to different foods. We can also use bloodwork to monitor important health markers. These self-assessments, along with regular check-ins, allow us to make adjustments to your nutrition plan as needed, ensuring you stay on track to reach your goals and celebrate your successes along the way!

  • Supplements can be part of your plan if your evaluation recommends them, but you don’t have to take them if you prefer not to. We can fully focus on getting your nutrients from food and herbs instead. Many people benefit from short-term supplement support while they adjust to obtaining their nutrients from whole foods and change their eating habits. Before starting any supplements, it’s a good idea to check in with your primary care physician or other provider if you're taking medication. My goal is to help you get as many nutrients as possible from whole food sources!
